Workgroup MICR printer

P 501M Desktop MICR Printer

The P 501M runs at 45 pages per minute with a recommended volume of 10,000 pages a month, and it scales to four trays and 2,100 sheets without leaving a desk-adjacent footprint.

Built on the Ricoh P 501

A 45 ppm Ricoh desktop engine, re-engineered for MICR. Your Ricoh service organization already supports it.

45 pages per minute

First print in 5 seconds or less, 19 second warm-up, 1200 x 1200 dpi LED imaging.

IPDS and PostScript 3

Handles host-generated print streams as well as PCL and PDF Direct.

Encrypted and locked

Four authentication types, SSL/TLS, optional HDD overwrite and encryption, lockable trays.

Desktop footprint, departmental capacity

Two things separate this machine from the P 311M beyond speed. It carries 2 GB of RAM and a 1.3 GHz processor, which matters when a check run arrives as a large spooled job rather than a handful of pages. And it supports IBM IPDS alongside PCL and Adobe PostScript 3, which is what a print stream coming out of a mainframe or an AS/400 environment needs.

We guarantee that checks printed with our MICR supplies on this machine meet ABA and ANSI standards for adhesion, signal strength, character definition, and read rates. As with the P 311M, the MICR drum and toner assembly can be exchanged for the standard assembly, which turns the same unit into an ordinary network printer for Windows, macOS, or Linux.
