MICR supplies

Three consumables, one outcome

Toner, the parts that apply it, and the paper it lands on. All three decide the same number: whether a bank reader/sorter accepts the item, or rejects it and charges you for it.

All supplies are backed by us and by Ricoh. Using approved supplies is one of the conditions attached to the MICR Performance Guarantee, which is the practical reason the three are sold together rather than sourced separately.

Supplies: three parts, one outcome

  1. ProMark MICR toner

    The magnetic signal.

  2. Maintenance kits

The machine that lays it down.

  3. Check and IRD stock

    The surface it lands on.

All three decide one number

Whether a bank reader/sorter accepts the item, or rejects it and charges you for it.

The MICR Performance Guarantee is conditioned on all three being approved.

ProMark MICR toner

The first polyester-based MICR toner in the industry, formulated per print engine rather than sold as one universal product. Independently tested at a 0.1% reject rate or lower.

  • Polyester base, stronger cohesion
  • Withstands reader/sorter temperatures
  • Five criteria evaluated per formulation
  • Full part numbers and yields

Maintenance kits

The parts that wear are the parts that decide print quality. A kit replaces the fuser, drum, transfer roller, pickup rollers, and separation pads before wear becomes a reject report.

  • Per-printer contents and yields
  • Fuser condition affects toner adhesion
  • A condition of the MICR guarantee
  • Kit A and Kit B part numbers

Check and IRD stock

Paper that misses the standard produces rejects on a printer in perfect calibration. ANSI X9.18 sets the weight, smoothness, moisture content, and ferromagnetic limits.

  • 24 lb recommended weight
  • Sheffield smoothness 120 to 150
  • 4.5% moisture content
  • No ferromagnetic material

The MICR Performance Guarantee applies when all five are true

  1. A Rosetta Technologies branded printer

Purchased in the United States or Canada.

  2. Bought from an authorized source

Rosetta Technologies or an authorized reseller.

  3. Approved supplies

Toner, developer, cartridges, maintenance kits and PCDUs.

  4. Rosetta Technologies MICR fonts

    E-13B and CMC-7 as supplied.

  5. Continuous maintenance

An approved service plan or an approved provider.

All five, together

Miss one and the guarantee does not apply. Mixing standard and MICR parts is explicitly excluded.

What it pays: bank fees for rejected checks above the acceptable rate your bank sets, where Rosetta Technologies materials caused the rejection.

Recycling

Returning used supplies

In cooperation with Ricoh, we encourage recycling all end-of-life equipment and supplies. The return program reuses the replacement cartridge box as the return package.

Cartridges with a shipping label inside

Remove the label from the box, put the used cartridge in, and tape the pre-paid label to the outside.

Cartridges, kits, and waste containers without a label

Print a pre-paid label from the Ricoh USA recycling page and tape it to the package.

Pro-Series, ProMark 8100, and SP 8200, 8300, 8400 bottles

Use the return label from the box the new product arrived in. If there is no label, or to collect several bottles first, call the shipping department for one.

Recycling is available in the continental United States.

Approved supplies are a condition of the guarantee

The MICR Performance Guarantee requires MICR toner, developer, cartridges, maintenance kits, and photoconductor drum units that we manufacture, together with our MICR fonts and continuous maintenance under an approved service plan.

Mixing standard and MICR toner cartridges or photoconductor drum units is an explicit exclusion.
