Rosetta Technologies to Offer New Production-class RICOH MICR Printers

Rosetta Technologies, a leading provider of Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) printers and check and Image Replacement Document (IRD) software solutions, today announced it has collaborated with Ricoh USA, Inc. to engineer and distribute the RICOH Pro 8210 MICR and RICOH Pro 8220 MICR devices. These production-class systems provide fast, dependable, end-to-end MICR printing with output quality that meets or exceeds industry standards.

Engineered in partnership with industry leader Ricoh, the RICOH Pro 8210 MICR and RICOH Pro 8220 MICR deliver speeds of 111 and 136 images per minute respectively and support duty cycles of up to 1,000,000 impressions per month. Designed for secure production printing in data centers, service bureaus and other transactional environments, these modular systems provide the speed and media input/output capacity to handle longer runs of checks, image replacement documents (IRDs), and transpromo documents with fewer interruptions. Both models support genuine IPDS, which provides extensive security features and true page-level error recovery for mission-critical MICR document printing. For maximum uptime and productivity, these MICR printers are available with Trained Customer Replacement Units (TCRU) that allow customers to replace their own supplies and key parts without waiting for a service technician.

The RICOH Pro 8210 MICR and RICOH Pro 8220 MICR printers offer superior reliability and help ensure the highest quality MICR output guaranteed to adhere to national MICR standards developed by the Accredited Standards Committee (ASC). "Every RICOH Pro 8210 and RICOH Pro 8220 print engine undergoes a meticulous conversion process by Rosetta Technologies engineers to transform them into MICR-ready solutions," said Rob Hullar, President of Rosetta Technologies. "We specifically formulate toners and fonts for each machine. Electrostatic components are modified to account for the different properties of Magnetic Ink Character Recognition toner. In fact, we guarantee that every document printed on the RICOH Pro 8210 and RICOH Pro 8220 systems will meet ANSI, ABA, and Canadian Payments Acceptance standards for adhesion, signal strength, character sharpness, and read rates."

"Ricoh has a legacy of delivering award-winning print production solutions to customers in high volume environments with complex workflows," said John Fulena, Vice President, Marketing, Production Printing Business Group, Ricoh USA, Inc. "Partnering with Rosetta to incorporate their best-in-class MICR technology positions Ricoh to satisfy the full breadth of our customers' production print requirements, including both MICR and non-MICR applications with strong confidence."
